Figuring it out

The Booger's still wooried about his physique, with an upcoming all-cousin play date coming up, so he's trying some new ball skills....

And, he's even got the ball's escape tactics down! Can't fool him twice...well three times...

Hellllo spring!

The Booger loves playing outside- he stands at the door and yells "ow-si!" And soon, I imagine he will be letting himself out- his penchant for climbing, and his knowledge of how the door handle works will be the end of me.

We ended the week with blue skies and 80 degress! Of course we spent some time "ow-si" to commemorate the end of the week.

He's starting to look like such a big kid! My 'baby' boy is disappearing right in front of my eyes.

Monkey-ing around

This little bucket...

came with the nursery set of Curious George items I found on ebay for the Booger's nursery. You know, one of those things that is part of a set, but you could take it or leave it...
Apparently, my little monkey would definitely take it!

Rollin' in fun!

Last weekend we spent the whole weekend together. This is a rare occurence as my husband often has to work on Saturdays. (We're pulling for another whole weekend right now too...). Just for fun we made a trip to Toys R Us, and left with these.

The Booger's day care has a few sets of Roll A Rounds, and he makes a beeline for them most mornings. So when we came across them, I thought he'd like a set at home. Boy oh boy! Does he ever! We got home around 4:00 and I swear the only time he wasn't double fistin' his new toys was during dinner. He even went to bed with one in each hand. He yelled at the cat today when Thumper started batting one around the living room. We'll work on sharing... and not tormenting the cat...but that's a whole 'nother lesson.

trying to play with one in each hand...

pure joy!

and after dinner too...

Another day of promises

I promise to dance and sing and play with you for a lifetime.

I love your smile and your infectious laugh, the sweet squeal that comes out at the end, of it, and how much harder you laugh when I laugh too. It warms my heart watching you play and discover the world around you. I have done my best to leave the house in shambles around us, so that we can play and enjoy the short time we have together. You are only a baby for such a short time, and far too soon you will want to play all on your own. Please know that I do my best to make all the other little unimportant things take a back seat to you and our family. (When you get older, you will understand how hard that is for your multi-taskin' momma!) I look forward to all the things we have to experience as you grow up, and promise that I will help you enjoy every last minute of it. Or darn close to it. I hope to give you a safe world that allows you to be a child until you grow up.

I can only hope that showing you how much I love you and how much you matter to me, will build a relationship that makes you want to dance and sing and play with me for a lifetime.

I love you bubba!

Pro- fessional!

The Booger is growing and changing by leaps and bounds. His newest joy in life is immediately heading off to do this...

(Don't mind the piles on the steps- and ignore that they are Christmas gifts from nearly a month ago...they are the least of the mess in this house)

...as soon as he is freed from his highchair after dinner.

Oh and in case you were wondering about our snow day... we stayed in our jammies with crazy snow day bed head for quite a large portion of the day. Glorious!

(However, the extra day off was terribly shocking for the Booger once he realized he was not, like he had hoped, staying home with mommy and daddy forever and he would eventually be going back to day care... the shock was slightly delayed- occuring at 7:35 this morning... and boy was it heartbreaking!)

Talking to yourself...

We all talk to ourselves, sometimes even out loud. I admit it, and I've been known to answer myself as well. Although, I don't believe I have ever gotten quite the kick out of it that the Booger does.

*** In case you didn't notice- he's talking and waving to a picture of himself.***

I suppose he's just getting himself ready because he plans to be in the naughty corner over the next few years...

Silly baby

The Booger is really figuring out how to play. I had a headache this afternoon, and was cuddling with him while he played with toys. Somehow he wiggled his little baby self from sitting up next to me to laying down on his belly. Which was pretty impressive in itself- I was wishing I had to camera, his arm got stuck, and he was busy swinging the other arm around to get momentum, and then it all came together.

Then I was rubbing his soft skin and fuzzy little head, and he popped his head up and gave me a big ol' smile. I just laughed at him and he dropped his head down again. Then a minute or two later, he did it again, waited for me to say hi, and then smiled at me. Then again...and again.... After a few times I realized he was playing with me, and he started it! He always likes being tickled or kissed or played with, but we have always initiated it.

He is getting such a personality, and it is super sweet, loving, and funny. I was so excited to meet him before he was born and spent a lot of time wondering what he would be like. Now I can really start to see the little kid he is going to turn into in his adorable little face and how he interacts with us and the world around him. And it just makes me even more excited to see what else is in store.

Dress up isn't just for girls!

The Booger has been super funny lately, with lots of laughs, smiles, and giggles. Yesterday afternoon from the time he woke up from his nap until he went to bed all he did was talk, talk, talk. Then he'd laugh and blow rasberries, and talk, talk, talk some more. Even while he ate dinner. Such a silly boy!

He and Daddy love to play, and they decided to play dress up today while Daddy was getting ready for work. He wouldn't barely stop looking at and talking to Daddy so Mommy could take pictures.

Let's start potty training- I look good in boxers!

Blanket? Nope- Daddy's polo!

Where'd he go?

There he is!
